Teen Programming will be held through digital platforms until August 1, 2020, at which point programs will begin in person with a limited capacity and increased sterilization.
The Contemporary Arts Center’s Teen Council (C-YA) has invited teens from all over the country to submit their artwork for a summer art show titled Please Hold. With the cancelation of our beloved Art Prom, the C-YA council felt it was important to create a resource for young adults to express themselves and be included in our art community.
During these last few months we’ve had many disruptions, both big and small. So much has been put on pause as we reprogram ourselves and create new routines. While we process confusion, outrage, and grief, there are also valuable moments of clarity as we learn to move forward. The selected artwork reflects this moment in time; the rituals and practices that keep us sane; the struggles and strengths of cohabitation; and, the changing relationships we have with the world outside.
So much of the future is unknown, but with this show we’d like to be a little part of your unknown and give others a chance to respond, relate and reflect together.
Please reserve free tickets to visit the galleries when the CAC opens in July with new limited hours. You can follow the link to do so here.
We're inviting teens to stop by Friday evenings between 5-7pm throughout the summer for small viewing gatherings with your peers, if you'd like to reserve tickets for that time specifically.
