Exhibition Details
Students participating in the CAC’s School Outreach Program were invited to submit a selection of original 2D and 3D artwork for a collaborative exhibition in the museum’s Community Gallery. With support from their teachers and local artists to learn new processes and explore CAC exhibition themes, student work is inspired by their program experiences.
The opening celebration will take place on Thursday, May 1st from 4:30 p.m. – 7 p.m.
The School Outreach Program is made possible by the Jack J. Smith Charitable Trust, the Elsa Sule Foundation, the Charles H. Dater Foundation, the Robert & Adele Schiff Family Foundation, the Eleanora C. U. Alms Trust, Fifth Third Bank, and the Louise Taft Semple Foundation.
Special thanks to collaborating artists and studios who support the CAC’s School Outreach Program through teaching artist visits:
Celebrating its 42nd year of continuous operation, the CAC School Outreach Program is the longest-running arts outreach program for K through 12th-grade students in Ohio. The student art show is the culminating event of the program year. The CAC School Outreach Program provides an intensive multi-layered experience with contemporary art for students in second through twelfth grade. Beginning in September and ending in May, the year-long program comprises an in-school orientation, two guided visits to CAC exhibitions, an exhibition related classroom project taught by a local artist, and a visit to an artist’s studio in the spring. Docents for the CAC School Outreach Program work with the same class throughout the year, ensuring continuity, promoting student rapport, and support for the classroom teacher.
