Nature Deficit: Act of Desperation was created by CAC Artist in Resident, Kateri Sparrow in response to the ongoing struggle to find and connect with nature in the urban landscape of today. Nature deficit disorder is an epidemic of modern proportions. In this show Sparrow seeks to piece together the softest, greenest comforting scraps she can find in order to try and fill the void when the modern landscape does not accommodate living things. With the hope of creating a sense of calm and a "beginner" sense for nature, these pieces invite sensory awareness for tactile stimulation, with the hope of prepping the individual for the future stimulation of living plans and soil.
