In response to Ecologies of Elsewhere, 22 members of Xavier Art Society created pieces inspired by the themes of the show. These student artists present their responses to the themes in through their own artmaking practice.

In Elsewhere Within, they examine human connection to the surrounding natural world and how ecology relates to themes close to us, such as gender, family, nostalgia, race, and cultural backgrounds, of which identity is at the core. Plants have been sources of both healing and change for them, allowing them to look inward on a deeper level and become closer to themselves.
