Join us every Thursday in the Creative Learning Center on the 6th floor of the CAC for Young Adult Lab, a free drop-in art making program!

This week, we’ll learn the basics of weaving. Warp vs weft, how to create some basic structures/patterns, and how to make a loom out of just a piece of cardboard! Julia Gomien will be on hand leading this experience alongside other educators and CAC staff.

Julia Gomien grew up in Cincinnati Ohio, after developing a love of art through her grandfather, she attended Savannah College of Art and Design where she studied fibers. During her studies, she became passionate about the history of fiber arts. Currently, she is a production artist for a local company while continuing her weaving practice out of her apartment. When not creating, she enjoys reading, spending time with her dog and spending time with her friends.

Supplies and snacks will be provided by the CAC.

The CAC's Teen Programs are made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services, Award Number MA-249792-OMS-21
