What is the role of cultural institutions in society during times of upheaval, change, and crisis? Since George Floyd's murder in 2020, cultural institutions have been called upon to play a more active role in social justice. Through protests, COVID-19, abortion legalization, and the conflict in Gaza, we continue to face challenges that reverberate throughout our communities. What responsibilities do cultural institutions have in supporting artists and our visitors as they engage with society and the arts made in our time? What are their limitations?
