Zaha Hadid was known for using sketches as an integral part of the exploratory phase of her design process. Celebrate 20 years of the Hadid-designed Lois and Richard Rosenthal Center for Contemporary Art and its angular aesthetic by exploring your own sketch practice!
Join Urban Sketchers' third Saturday sketch outing. Urban Sketchers is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising the artistic, storytelling and educational value of location drawing, promoting its practice and connecting people around the world who draw on location where they live and travel. We aim to show the world, one drawing at a time.
Participants will meet at the entrance of the CAC at 10AM. Bring your sketchbook and some art supplies, sit anywhere, and start sketching! This building is known for unique stairwells, great natural light, and unexpected angles. Only pencils are permitted in the galleries, however, other materials are welcome in the lobby and outside. No artistic skills are necessary; all skill levels welcome; judgement-free zone.
The "Sketch Throwdown" will take place at 11:45AM in the CAC Boardroom. Light refreshments will be provided.
Free to attend and no registration is required.
