People Moving: Stories and Action from 50 Years of the Over-the-Rhine People’s Movement
Organized by Storefronts as a part of Artist-Run Spaces
Join Peaslee Neighborhood Center’s youth, the Agents of Change and Risers, to experience our participatory, social justice education programs in action! Agents and Risers will lead you in several activities that demonstrate how Peaslee goes about our work for learners of all ages. Firmly rooted in the Over-the-Rhine People’s Movement, Agents of Change and Risers represent some of the young voices that play a key role in movement gains of today.
The Over-the-Rhine People’s Movement is ongoing, living, has continued to grow from the grass-roots, starting in the early 1970s. Protesting for affordable housing has been as important over the years as making art, playing basketball, taking care of the sick, and celebrating birthdays. Join the circle, as movement members share stories of how they have sustained love in action over 50 years, how they are in the struggle now as much as ever for the right of all to experience joy and love and equity and justice, and how you can step into this living community of people moving.
