In Love, Rage and Solidarity is a programming series taking place in the Black Box Theater of the Contemporary Arts Center, as well as virtual platforms.
In Love, Rage and Solidarity created by Migiwa Orimo, interdisciplinary artist and facilitator of the People’s Banner Workshop, is a six-part programming series that will bring various social justice activist groups, artists, and individuals from the Greater Cincinnati area together. Through two round table conversations and four Open Studio banner and flag making sessions, the People’s Banner Workshop hopes to create a space for activists and artists to cross pollinate ideas and strategies to explore how their creative solidarities might have a greater social impact on both the local and wider communities.
People’s Banner Workshop is an ongoing project facilitated by Migiwa Orimo.
The workshop provides free visual aids (banners, signs, props) for direct action, protest rallies, picket lines, and other street actions for social justice.
The People’s Banner Workshop collaborates with various activist groups––BLM, Immigration Justice, Antiracism, Climate Justice, Worker’s Rights––to determine key messages for banners that will help their actions by visually engaging the public space. In addition, its aim is to draw the attention of local news media to their actions to communicate with the audience-at-large.
The Co-LAB program is generously sponsored by ArtsWave.
