In anticipation of Myopia, a retrospective of the artwork of Mark Mothersbaugh, the Contemporary Arts Center presents the artist live in concert at the Woodward Theater.
Known throughout the world as a founding member of the popular band DEVO, Mothersbaugh is an Ohio-native who's been a prolific artist since before the band’s inception and continues to make art to this day. The evening begins with orchestral renditions of DEVO covers and Mothersbaugh's compositional works for numerous films. Following this look into Motherbaugh's collaborative pieces, a moderated conversation with the artist will take place. The night ends with Mothersbaugh serving as conductor for the ensemble performance, featuring local musicians, of ''Music for Six-Sided Keyboard.''
Myopia opens September 25 and runs through January 9. The exhibitition is curated by Adam Lerner of the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver.
