Join us for the opening reception of Voices Unheard: Art, Identity, and Experience in the CAC's 6th floor Community Gallery.
This multidisciplinary art show highlights the voices of detained youth through visual art, writing, music, and science. Each piece reflects personal stories of identity, resilience, rehabilitation, and growth based on environment and lived experience. Voices Unheard invites viewers to look beyond assumptions and connect with the creativity, strength, and humanity of these artists.
REFLECTION from Hamilton County Youth Center Educators -Hearing students share their experiences in the detention center and reflect on what they learned was deeply meaningful for us as teachers. Their honesty gave us insight into their growth, resilience, and self-awareness in ways we don’t always see in the classroom. It reinforced the importance of creating a supportive space where students feel heard and valued and reminded us that our role goes beyond academics—we help shape how they see themselves and their future.
