Join us for an Educator Workshop focusing on the exhibition, The Illustrated Memoir Project: Voices from Nakivale. The project shares individual stories of refugees to foster a deeper understanding of people’s cultures and lived experiences. As a viewer, we are asked to reflect on immigrant youth and how we can create welcoming communities for all people. Learn how students from all backgrounds and different walks of life can share their stories through creative writing and illustration.
Enjoy an evening with pizza, wine, educational resources, and an art-making activity with Kate Currie, Executive Director of Maketake Inc. Space is limited, and reservations are required. To learn more about the project, visit Illustrated Memoir Project. Free for CAC members, $5 for students, and $10 for non-members
Educator workshops are open to local, regional, and future teachers - classroom and community-based - to learn more about the connections that can be made between contemporary art and the traditional curriculum. Great for networking and teacher training, development, and continuing education as participants can earn CEUs.
