Local Cincinnati artist Dutana D will lead a workshop where participants will create a hanging wall piece inspired by 80's and 90's macramé methods, using braiding hair. No braiding experience is necessary, but it's a plus.
This workshop comes from our summer Co-LAB entitled AfroSwag Hair and Fashion, with artist Nzingha Byrd and organization Sweet Sistah Splash. The goal for this Co-Lab is to express the historical relevance where black culture has influenced hair and fashion in the past, in the present, and what will soon be the future.
