The Shore Collection features an eclectic array of Modern and Contemporary art from Spain, Portugal, France, Hungary, Switzerland, and the United States. A large part of the collection is comprised of works by the artist, Joe Fig (b. 1968, Seaford, NY). Fig is known for exploring the creative process and the spaces where art is made. He is the author of Inside the Painter's Studio (2009) and Inside the Artist's Studio (2015), both of which share intimate views inside the studios and processes of contemporary artists. His work can be found in numerous private collections and museums including the Norton Museum of Art, Toledo Museum of Art, and the New Museum. Fig is the Department Head of both the Fine Arts and Visual Studies Department at the Ringling College of Art and Design, Sarasota, Florida. He is represented by Cristin Tierney Gallery in New York.
