Teaching is the format Richie Gould uses to pose the question: What if? With his sights set on both history and art making, he attempts to explore the space in between. Gould’s goal through teaching is to elaborate upon the human condition by creating an environment that will spark curiosity through the stories held within images and objects. In order to explore our present historical perspective, he seeks to guide students toward self discovery. Gould seeks to facilitate dialogue to better inform his students’ practices and core interests by infusing conversation with art objects, and hopes to create a platform for the learner to see meanings and how they change throughout history. Using this philosophy, he ultimately aims to break down dimensions within art, in order to experience and share a broader story.
