Event Details

Kelsey Linder received her BFA from the University of Cincinnati, DAAP. In her paintings and mixed media works, she explores the ideas of stimulation and boundaries. Through the use of archetypes, “femme” objects and the human anatomy, she creates portals that explore Utopia. By questioning these traditional “feminine” archetypes and objects, she celebrates bodies as they are, revels in self love, incites curiosity and initiates introspection. Her work acts as a coping mechanism, and exhibits resistance to a culture where a Womxn’s empowerment is seen as an affront and yet is demanded. Her practice and goal for this Residency is to challenge this way of thought and the boundaries that exist by engaging in productive dialogues, creating a supportive atmosphere for guided self-education, covering the walls in self love and neon pink, and she’d love to share this with you!
