Artist Details
Ying Kit Chan received a BFA in 1981 from the University of Oklahoma and an MFA in 1983 from University of Cincinnati. Chan has been the subject of several solo exhibitions, including at Taiwan Museum of Art, Tai Chung, Taiwan (1992); Taipei Fine Arts Museum, Taipei, Taiwan (1993); Cressman Center, University of Louisville, Louisville, KY (2014); and University of Montevallo Art Gallery, Montevallo, AL (2018). He has also participated in many group exhibitions, including at the National Museum of Modern Art, Seoul, Korea (1978); Washington Design Center, Washington, DC (1989); Hong Kong Visual Art Centre, Hong Kong (2006); Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati, OH (2019); and Suwon Museum of Art, Gwanggyo, South Korea (2022). Chan is currently the MFA Program Director of the Art and Design Department At University of Louisville.
