Artist Details
Victor Burgin was born in 1941 in Sheffield, UK. He graduated in 1965 from Royal College of Art in London, UK and in 1967 an MFA from Yale University in New Haven, CT. Burgin has been the subject of several solo exhibitions, including at the Institute of Contemporary Arts, London, UK (1976); Mücsarnok Museum, Budapest, Hungary (1997); Archeological Museum, Istanbul, Turkey (2010); and Slought Foundation, Philadelphia, PA (2016). He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including Information, The Museum of Modern Art, New York, NY (1970); L’Epreuve Numérique, Palais de Tokyo, Paris, France (1992); Spirits of Internationalism, 6 European Collections, 1956 – 1986, Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven, Netherlands (2012); and Landscape Trauma, Centre for British Photography, London, UK (2023). Burgin currently lives and works in Paris, France.
