Artist Details
Photographer, sculptor, and performance artist Todd Gray was born in 1954 in Los Angeles, CA. He received a BFA in 1979 and an MFA in 1989, both from California Institute of the Arts. He has been the subject of many solo exhibitions, including at California State University, Los Angeles, CA (2004); Museum of the African Diaspora, San Francisco, CA (2017); Pomona College Museum of Art, Pomona, CA (2019); and Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, Hartford, CT (2021). He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including Man's World, Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, CA (1996); Framing the Triangle, Goethe Institute, Accra, Ghana (2005); Oz, New Offerings From Los Angeles, Instituto Cultural Cabaña, Guadalajara, Mexico (2009); Michael Jackson: On the Wall, National Portrait Gallery, London, UK (2018); Photo Flux: Unshuttering LA, The J.
