Tim Head was born in 1946 in London, UK. He received a BFA in 1969 from University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and a Postgraduate degree in Sculpture from St. Martin's School of Art in 1970. Head has been the subject of several solo exhibitions, including at the Museum of Modern Art, Oxford, UK (1972); Provincial Museum, Hasselt, Belgium (1983); Kunstverein Braunschweig, Braunschweig, Germany (1995); and EnBW Headquarters, Berlin, Germany (2005). He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including Zeit, Worte und die Kamera: Fotoarbeiten englischer Kunstler, Kunstlerhaus, Graz, Austria (1976); British Art Now: An American Perspective, Solomon R Guggenheim Museum, New York, NY (1981); Framed, Slade Centre for Electronic Media, Research Centre, Woburn Square, London, UK (2006); Signs of a Struggle, Photography in the Wake of Post Modernism, Victoria and Albert Museum, London, UK (2011); and The Small Infinite, John Hansard Gallery, University of Southampton, Southampton, UK (2014). Head currently lives and works in London, UK.
