Illustrator Tibor Gergely was born in 1900 in Budapest, Hungary. He has been the subject of many solo exhibitions, including at Wellesley College Art Museum, Wellesley, MA (1943); Hatvany Lajos Museum, Hatvan, Hungary (1974, 1977); Kunsthandel H. Schrammel, Vienna, Austria (1997); and Bronfman Family Jewish Community Center, Santa Barbara, CA (2010-11). He has also partipctaed in various group exhibitions, including at the Art Center of New School for Social Research New York, NY (1960, 1964, 1966); Metropolitan Museum Teim, Tokyo, Japan (1990); and Fairleigh Dickinson University, Campus Library, Madison, NJ (2003). Gergely died in 1978 in New York, NY.
