Shaun Gladwell

Biography

Multidisciplinary artist Shaun Gladwell was born in 1972 in Sydney, Australia. He received a BFA in 1996 from Sydney College of the Arts and an MFA in 2001 from University of New South Wales. He has been the subject of many solo exhibitions, including at the Institute of Modern Art, Brisbane, Australia (2006); University Art Gallery, University of California, San Diego, CA (2008); Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art, Hartford, CT (2011); Museum of Contemporary Art, Zagreb, Croatia (2013); and Samstag Museum, University of South Australia, Adelaide, Australia (2014). He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including Hatched, Institute of Contemporary Art, Perth, Australia (1997); Home Sweet Home: Works From the Peter Fay Collection, National Gallery of Australia, Canberra, Australia (2003); ERROR #14: Into the Light, Royal Museum of Fine Arts, Antwerp, Belgium (2009); and Buildering: Misbehaving the City, Contemporary Arts Center,Cincinnati, OH (2014). Gladwell currently lives and works in London, UK.
