Biography

Photographer Rosalind Fox Solomon was born in 1930 in Highland Park, IL. She received a BA in 1951 from Goucher College in Baltimore, MD. Solomon has been the subject of many solo exhibitions, including at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, DC (1980); Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago, IL (1990); Museé Nicéphore Niépce, Chalon-sur-Saône, France (2005); and Grand Palais Ephemere, Paris, France (2022). She has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including Mirrors and Windows, Museum of Modern Art, New York, NY (1978); Recaption: Recontext, University of Minnesota Art Museum, Minneapolis, MN (1989); Wanderers, Travelers, and Adventurers: Images of Exploration from the Permanent Collection of the Museum of Photographic Arts, Museum of Photographic Arts, San Diego, CA (2003); After the Moment: Reflections on Robert Mapplethorpe, Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati, OH (2015); and This Place, Judisches Museum, Berlin, Germany (2019). Solomon currently lives and works in New York, NY.
