Ronald Bladen was born in 1918 in Vancouver, Canada. He has been the subject of several solo exhibitions, including at Vancouver Art Gallery, Vancouver, Canada (1946); Pasadena Art Museum, Pasadena, CA (1972); P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center, Long Island City, NY (1999); and The University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN (2019). Bladen has also participated in many group exhibitions, including Sixty-Fourth Annual Exhibition, Oil, Tempera on Panel and Sculpture, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco, CA (1944); Primary Structures: Younger American and British Sculptors, The Jewish Museum, New York, NY (1966); Arte Povera, Minimal Art, Concept Art, Land Art, Museum of Modern Art, New York, NY (1995); and Works from the 1970s, Pacific Design Center, Los Angeles, CA (2013). Bladen died in 1988 in New York, NY.
