Rodney Graham was born in 1949 in Saint-Paul-d'Abbotsford, Canada. He graduated in 1971 in Vancouver, Canada. He has been the subject of several solo exhibitions, including at the Stedelijk Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven, The Netherlands (1989); Fonds Régional d’Art Contemporain de Haute Normandie, Rouen, France (1996); Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, CA (2004); and Garage Museum of Contemporary Art, Moscow, Russia (2021). He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including Stars Don’t Stand Still in the Sky – Hommage à Stéphane Mallarmé, Kunstmuseum Winterthur, Winterthur, Switzerland (1992); 010101: Art in Technological Times, San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco, CA (2001); I Wish This Was a Song. Music in Contemporary Art, The National Gallery and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Oslo, Norway (2012); and Dancing with Myself. Self-portrait and Self-invention. Works from the Pinault Collection, Museum Folkwang, Essen, Germany (2016). Graham died in 2022 in Vancouver, Canada.
