Robert Grosvenor was born in 1937 in New York, NY. He attended École des Beaux Arts, École Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, and Universita di Perugia. Grosvenor has been the subject of several solo exhibitions, including at the La Jolla Museum of Contemporary Art, La Jolla, CA (1971); Centre d'Art Contemporain du Domaine de Kerguehennec à Bignan, Locmine, France (1989); Fundação de Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art, Porto, Portugal (2005); Institute of Contemporary Art Miami, Miami, FL (2019); and The Power Station, Dallas, TX (2023). He has participated in numerous group exhibitions, including Primary Structures, The Jewish Museum, New York, NY (1966); postMINIMALism, The Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art, Ridgefield, CT (1982); From Minimal to Conceptual Art: Works from the Dorothy and Herbert Vogel Collection, National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC (1994); Der Raum der Linie, Museum Wiesbaden, Wiesbaden, Germany (2012); and Los Angeles to New York: Dwan Gallery 1959-1971, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Los Angeles, CA (2017). Grosvenor currently lives and works in Long Island, NY.
