Ricci Albenda was born in 1966 in Brooklyn, NY. He received a BFA from Rhode Island School of Design in 1988 in Providence, Rhode Island. Albenda has been the subject of several solo exhibitions, including Ricci Albenda, Van Laere Contemporary Art, Antwerp, Belgium (2000); 26 Devoe, The Horticultural Society of New York, New York (2006); Yakkity Yak, Gladstone Gallery, Brussels, Belgium (2014); and Breathe, Andrew Kreps Gallery, New York (2022). He also has participated in several group exhibitions, including The Drawing Show, Water Street Studios, New York, NY (1991); Guide to Trust No.2, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, San Francisco, CA (2002); Shaping Space, James Cohan Gallery, New York, NY (2009); Movement: The Legacy of Kineticism, Dallas Museum of Art, Dallas, TX (2022). Albenda currently lives and works in New York City, NY.
