Reginald Gammon was born in 1921 in Philadelphia, PA. He graduated in 1949 from The Philadelphia Museum College of Art. Gammon has been the subject of many solo exhibitions, including at Grand Rapids Art Museum, Grand Rapids, MI (1981); Harwood Art Center, Albuquerque, NM (2003); and Reginald Gammon: Paintings, Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, MI (2004). His work has been included in several group exhibitions, including MUSE, Children's Museum, Brooklyn, NY (1969); Focus '88, Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati, OH (1988); Area Show, Kalamazoo Institute of Art, Kalamazoo, MI (1992); An Exuberant Bounty: Prints and Drawings by African Americans, The Philadelphia Museum of Art, Philadelphia, PA (2000); and Tone Parallel, Woodmere Art Museum, Philadelphia, PA (2005). Gammon died in 2005 in Albuquerque, NM.
