Artist Details
Radcliffe Bailey was born in 1968 in Bridgeton, NJ. He received a BFA in 1991 from Atlanta College of Art in Atlanta, GA. Bailey has been the subject of many solo exhibitions, including ARTCurrents II: Radcliffe Bailey, The Mint Museum of Art, Charlotte, NC (1992); New Paintings by Radcliffe Bailey, Cheekwood Museum of Art, Nashville, TN (2003); and Vessel III, The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum, Ridgefield, CT (2019-20). He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including The Woodruff Memorial Exhibition: Curator’s Choice, The Studio Museum of Harlem, New York, NY (1994); A Century of Collecting: African American Art in the Art Institute of Chicago, Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, IL (2003); Structure of the World, McMaster Museum of Art, Hamilton, Ontario (2014); and Afro-Atlantic Histories, The Museum of Fine Arts Houston, Houston, TX (2021-22). Bailey currently lives and works in Atlanta, GA.
