Multidisciplinary artist Pilar Albarracín was born in 1968 in Seville, Spain. She received a BFA from Seville University in 1993 in Seville, Spain. She has been the subject of several solo exhibitions, including Pilar Albarracín, Reales Atarazanas de Sevilla, Seville, Spain (2004); Muro de geranios, Musée en Herbe, Paris, France (2014); Pilar Albarracín, MAIIAM Contemporary Art Museum, Chiang Mai, Thailand (2019); Take a Knife and Open my Heart, American University Museum at the Katzen Arts Center, Washington D.C (2023). Albarracín has also participated in many group exhibitions, including 100%, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo, Seville, Spain (1993); Centre of Gravity, Istanbul Modern Sanat Müzesi, Istanbul, Turkey (2005); Another Part of the New World, Moscow Museum of Modern Art, Moscow, Russia (2015); and I've got a feeling, Les 5 sens dans l'art contemporain, Musée des Beaux-Arts dÁngers, Angers, France (2023).
Albarracín currently lives and works between Seville and Madrid, Spain.
