Painter and printmaker Pierre Courtin was born in 1921 in Rebréchien, France. He attended the École des Beaux-Arts, the École des Beaux-Arts, École des Arts Décoratifs, and l'Académie Ranson. Courtin's work can be found in many public collections, including at the Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, IL; Indianapolis Museum of Art, Indianapolis, IN; The British Museum, London, UK; Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, NY; and The National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC. Courtin died in 2012 in Maisons-Laffitte, France.
