Artist Details
Phyllis Baldino was born in 1956. She received a BFA in Sculpture in 1978 from Hartford Art School, University of Hartford in West Hartford, CT. She has been the subject of several solo exhibitions, including Times per second, Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati, OH (2001); ParaUniVersesVersesVerses, Mary Brogan Museum of Art & Science, Tallahassee, FL (2004); Absence is Present: MayJuneJuly, Wexner Center for the Arts, Columbus, OH (2011); and u_n_d_e_r_w_a_t_e_r , La Droguerie, Videoformes, Clermont-Ferrand, France (2020). Baldino has also participated in many group exhibitions, including Out West and Back East, Santa Monica Museum of Art, Santa Monica, CA (1994); Documentary Fortnight, Museum of Modern Art, New York, NY (2006); Endurance: Daring Feats of Risk, Survivability and Perseverance, Abington Art Center, Abington, PA (2009); and Perpetual Screw,” International Objects, Brooklyn, NY (2023). Baldino currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
