Philippe Durand was born in 1963 in Oullins, France. He has been the subject of many solo exhibitions, including at the Museum of Fine Arts, Mulhouse, France (1999); Photography Center, Geneva, Switzerland (2008); and Hyde Park Art Center, Chicago, IL (2012). He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including International Meeting of Photography, National Center of Photography, Arles, France (2000); Number three, from home to factory, National Center of Plastic Arts and Image Center, Barcelona, Spain (2012); 50JPG - 50 Days for photography in Geneva, Photography Center, Geneva, Switzerland (2019); and Inventing color: tribute to Louis Ducos du Hauron, Museum of Fine Arts of Agen, Agen, France (2021). Durand currently lives and works in Paris, France.
