"born in Carlisle, Pa., 1918. Studied at the Philadelphia Museum School of Industrial Art. First worked in a lithograph shop, then in an adevrtising agency in Richmond, Virginia. He returned to Pennsylvania and spent several years on the art staff of the Philadelphia Record. Started to free lance in 1942, and teaches advertising and illustration at the Moore Institute of Art in Philadelphia" (Modern Art in Advertising).
