Artist Details

Biography

Paul Delvaux was born in 1897 in Wanze, Belgium. He attended the Académie Royale des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, Belgium. His work has been the subject of various solo exhibitions, including at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Andros, Greece (2009); Royal Museums of Fine Arts of Belgium, Brussels, Belgium (2009-10); Bilbao Fine Arts Museum, Bilbao, Spain (2013); and Kunsthal Rotterdam, Rotterdam, The Netherlands 920180. He has also been included in many group exhibitions, including Picture Dreams. Ulla and Heiner Pietzsch Collection, Neue Nationalgalerie, Berlin, Germany (2009); Dreamscapes, Pulitzer Arts Foundation, St. Louis, MO (2011); and Fiercely Human. Portraits of Baroque Sanctity, Museo Carmen Thyssen Málaga, Málaga, Spain (2023-24). Delavaux died in 1994 in Veurne, Belgium.
