Biography
Pao Houa Her was born in 1982 in Laos. She received a BFA in 2009 from Minneapolis College of Art and Design and an MFA from 2012 from Yale University. Her has been the subject of several solo exhibitions, including at Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum, East Lansing, MI (2015); Eastside Freedom Library, St. Paul MN; PLATFORM Centre, Winnipeg, Canada (both 2019); and Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, MN (2022-23). She has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including Foot In The Door, Minneapolis Institute of Art, Minneapolis, MN (2010); Migration Series #1, Telemark Art Center, Skien, Norway (2015); in(di)visible, Station Museum of Contemporary Art, Houston, TX (2018); The Regional, Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati, OH; Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, Kansas City, MO (2021-22); and The Outwin 2022: American Portraiture Today, National Portrait Gallery, Washington, DC (2022-24). Her currently lives and works in Blaine, MN.
