Biography

Multidisciplinary artist Orshi Drozdik was born in 1946 in Abda, Hungary. She received a BFA in 1977, an MFA in 1977, and a PhD in 2003, all from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts. She has been the subject of several solo exhibitions, including at the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts, Budapest, Hungary (1975); Ernst Museum, Budapest, Hungary (1990); Ludwig Museum – Museum of Contemporary Art, Budapest, Hungary (2001-02); and Grand Palais Éphémère, Paris, France (2022). She has also participated in many group exhibitions, including Donated Artworks (1980–1981), Museum of Contemporary Art, Skopje, Yugoslavia (1981); The Eighties – Visual Art, Ernst Museum, Budapest, Hungary (1994); The New Arrivals. 8 Contemporary Artists from Hungary, Palais des Beaux Arts, Bruxelles, Belgium (2011); and Discipline and Perform, Musée D'Art Moderne at Contemporain, Geneva, Switzerland (2021-22). Drozdik currently lives and works in New York, NY.
