Artist Details

Biography

Multidisciplinary artist Nancy Graves was born in 1939 in Pittsfield, MA. She received a BA in 1961 from Vassar College, and in 1964 she received her MFA in Painting from Yale University. She has been the just of many solo exhibitions, including at the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, NY (1969); Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo, NY (1980); National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa, Canada (1995); and The Frances Lehman Loeb Art Center, Poughkeepsie, NY (2011). She has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including New American Graphic Art, Fogg Art Museum, Harvard University, Cambridge, MA (1973); Prints from Tyler Graphics, Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, MN (1984); and Mapping, The Museum of Modern Art, New York, NY (1994). Graves died in 1995 in New York, NY.
