Artist Details
Multidisciplinary artist Nancy Dwyer was born in 1954 in New York, NY. She received a BFA in 1976 from State University of New York, and an MA in 2002 from New York University. Dwyer has been the subject of various solo exhibitions, including at the Studio d’Arte, Cannaviello, Milan, Italy (1981); and Burchfield-Penny Art Center, Buffalo, NY (1996). She has also participated in several group exhibitions, including New Drawing in America, The Drawing Center, New York, NY (1982); Word as Image: American Art 1960-1990, Contemporary Arts Museum, Houston, TX (1991); The State of Sculpture, Tang Art Museum, Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, NY (2004); and The Pictures Generation, Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, NY (2009). She is currently an Associate Professor of Sculpture at University of Vermont in Burlington, VT.
