Artist Details
Nancy Davidson was born in 1943 in Chicago, IL. She received her BFA from the University of Illinois and her MFA from the Art Institute of Chicago, both in Chicago, IL. She has been the subject of many solo exhibitions, including at Berkshire Museum, Pittsfield, MA (1982); Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati, OH (2001); Boca Museum of Art, Boca Raton, FL (2013); and Krannert Art Museum, Champaign, IL (2020-21). She has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including Chicago and Vicinity Exhibition, Art Institute of Chicago, Chicago, IL (1974); Pop Surrealism, Aldrich Museum of Contemporary Art, Ridgefield, CT (1998); Pop and Its Progeny, Lyman Allyn Museum, New London, CT (2013); and Midnight of Art. Ways of Collecting: Karel Babicek’s Collection, Kunsthalle Praha, Prague, Czech Republic (2022). Davidson currently lives and works in New York.
