Nancy Bowen received her BFA in 1978 from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in Chicago, IL and her MFA in 1990 from Hunter College in New York, NY. Bowen has been the subject of many solo exhibitions, including at the Emison Art Center, DePauw University, Greencastle, IN (1992); Islip Art Museum, Islip, NY (2010); and Purchase College, Purchase, NY (2012). She has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including Non-Naive, Hyde Park Art Center, Chicago, IL (1980); Calido!, Tucson Museum of Art, Tucson, AZ (1997); Phenomenal, SPACES, Cleveland, OH (2008); and Bricolage, Rockland Center for the Arts, Nyack, NY (2014). Bowen currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
