Artist Details

Biography

Filmmaker and visual artist Morgan Fisher was born in 1942 in Washington, DC. He received a BFA in 1964 from Harvard University. He has been the subject of several solo and two-person exhibitions, including at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, MA (1972); San Francisco Cinematheque, San Francisco, CA (1985); Kunstverein Hamburg, Hamburg, Germany (2000); Tate Modern, London, UK (2005); and MAK Center, Los Angeles, CA (2016). He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including Information, Museum of Modern Art, New York, NY (1970); Fade to Black, Eldorado Centrum voor Beeldcultuur, Antwerp, Belgium (1993); Bunch Alliance and Dissolve, Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati, OH (2006); T.J. Wilcox: In the Air, Whitney Museum of American Art, New York, NY (2014); and Museum for Preventive Imagination – EDITORIAL, Museum of Contemporary Art of Rome, Italy (2020). Fisher currently lives and works in Los Angeles, CA.
