Biography

Mónica Giron was born in 1959 in San Carlos de Bariloche, Patagonia. She graduated in 1984 from École Supérieure d’Art Visuel in Geneva, Switzerland. She has been the subject of several solo exhibitions, including at the Fundación Banco Patricios, Buenos Aires, Argentina (1991); Kemper Museum of Contemporary Art, Kansas City, MO (1996); Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires, Argentina (2007); Centro Cultural Recoleta (CCR sala C), Buenos Aires, Argentina (2015); and Barro Arte Contemporáneo, Buenos Aires, Argentina (2018). She has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including Salón Pro-Arte, Museo de Bellas Artes Emilio Caraffa, Córdoba, Argentina (1990); Runt om oss, Inom oss - Around Us, Inside Us, Borås Konstmuseum, Borås, Switzerland (1997); El estrecho dudoso, Museo de Arte Costarricense, San José, Costa Rica (2006); Interfaces – Una antología posible, Centro Cultural Kirchner, Buenos Aires, Argentina (2015); and INÉDITA, Barro Arte Contemporáneo, Buenos Aires, Argentina (2020). Giron currently lives and works in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
