Artist Details

Biography

Mike Glier was born in 1953 in Fort Thomas, KY. He received a BA in 1976 from Williams College and an MFA in 1979 from Hunter College. He has been the subject of several solo exhibitions, including at The Kitchen, New York, NY (1980); San Jose Museum of Art, San Jose, CA (1989); Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati, OH (1996); Richmond Center for the Visual Arts, Western Michigan University, Kalamzoo, MI (2016); and Bill Arning Exhibitions, Kinderhook, NY (2023). He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including CAGE Exhibition, Contemporary Art Center, Cincinnati, OH (1979); Ecrans Politiques, Musee d’Art Contemporain de Montreal, Montreal, Canada (1985); Graphicstudio: Contemporary Art from the Collaborative Workshop at the University of South Florida, National Gallery of Art, Washington, DC (1991); Tell it To My Heart: Collected by Julie Ault, Kunstmuseum Basel, Museum fur Gegenwartskunst, Basel, Switzerland (2012); and Ecophillia, Berkshire Botanical Garden, Stockbridge, MA (2022).
