Artist Details

Biography

Mauro Altamura was born in 1954. He received a BFA in 1976 from Ramapo College of New Jersey in Mahwah, NJ, an MFA in Photography in 1981 from State University of New York in Buffalo, NY, and an MFA in 2009 in Creative Writing from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. Altamura has been the subject of several exhibitions at various venues, including John Davis Gallery, Akron, OH (1983); Johnson and Johnson Gallery, New Brunswick, NJ (1985); Jersey City Museum, Jersey City, NJ (1996); and Kenyon College, Gambier, OH (2006). Altamura has also participated in many group exhibitions, including Finger Lakes Invitational, Memorial Art Gallery, Rochester, NY (1982); This Sporting Life, High Museum of Art, Atlanta, GA (1992); Surveillance, Jersey City Museum, Jersey City, NJ (2006); and Paris Photo, Laurence Miller Gallery, Paris France (2012).
