Artist Details

Biography

Sculptor Martha Friedman was born in 1975 in Detroit, MI. She received a BFA from Brandeis University in Waltham, MA and her MPS in Art Therapy from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. Friedman has been the subject of several solo exhibitions, including at Boston City Hall, Boston, MA (1981); Newton Free Library, Newton, MA (1990); Essex Art Center, Lawrence MA (1998); and University Place, Cambridge, MA (2023). She has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, including NEWPRINTS at NEWPORT, Newport Art Museum, Newport, RI (1999); Intricate Layers, The Attleboro Museum/Center for the Arts, Attleboro, MA (2002); and Art Access, Cambridge Multicultural Center, Cambridge, MA (2019). Friedman currently lives and works in New York, NY.
