Marshall Brown was born in 1973 in East Orange, NJ. He received a Bachelor of Architecture from Washington University in 1995, and MAs in Architecture and Urban Design from Harvard University in 2000. Brown has been the subject of various solo exhibitions, including at Museum of Contemporary Art, Detroit, MI (2012); Santa Barbara Museum of Art, CA (2022-23); and San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, San Francisco, CA (2023). He has also participated in many group exhibitions, including Jane Jacobs and the Future of New York, Municipal Arts Society of New York, New York, NY (2007); 50 Designers, 50 Ideas, 50 Wards, Chicago Architecture Foundation, Chicago, IL (2016-17); and A Space Problem, Elmhurst Art Museum, Elmhurst, IL (2020). Brown currently lives and works in Princeton, NJ.
