Marina Abramović | Contemporary Arts Center

Conceptual and performance artist Marina Abramović was born in 1946 in Belgrade, Serbia. She received a BFA from the Academy of Fine Arts, Belgrade, Serbia in 1970 and an MFA from the Academy of Fine Arts, Zagreb, Croatia in 1972. Some of Abramović's well-known performances are Rhythm O, performed in Naples, Italy (1972); The Great Walk, performed at The Great Wall of China, Beijing, China (1988 and 2008); and The Artist is Present at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, NY (2010).
