Photographer Margaret Bourke-White was born in 1904 in New York, NY. She graduated from the Clarence H. White School of Photography in 1922. She has been the subject of many solo exhibitions, including at Rockefeller Center, New York, NY (1932); the Art Institute of Chicago, IL (1956); and Andrew Dickson White Museum of Art, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY (1972). She also participated in the group exhibitions Six Women Photographers and Memorable Life Photographers, Museum of Modern Art, New York, NY (1959,1951). Bourke-White died in 1971 in Stamford, CT.
