Biography

Lisa Anne Auerbach was born in 1967 in Ann Arbor, MI. She received her BFA in 1990 from Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, NY and her MFA in 1994 from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA. Auerbach has been the subject of numerous solo exhibitions, including Right On, Weatherman, CPK Kunsthal, Copenhagen, Denmark (2006); United We Stand, The Hammer Museum, Los Angeles, CA (2012); and American Magazine #1, The Ski Club, Milwaukee, WI (2014). She has also participated in many group exhibitions, including P.L.A.N.: Photography Los Angeles Now, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Los Angeles, CA (1995); Words Fail Me, Museum of Contemporary Art, Detroit, MI (2007); Cut, Fold, Recreate, Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati, OH (2016); and Half the Picture: A Feminist Look at the Collection, Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn, NY (2018). Auerbach currently lives and works in Los Angeles, CA.
